*** April 2026 Image & Video Thread ***

A UNICO group took a trip to the New York Botanical Garden. Great artist’s exhibit with orchids (an orchid show exhibits there every year with different artists providing the installations). Write a little blurb about it and was fortunate enough to have a beautiful day exploring…

Shots including people really aren’t my forté but whilst taking in the sights of Loulé fish market this guy spotted my camera and decided to strike a pose. I’m aware there’s a lot of flaws with this shot but I’m quite taken with it especially given how far out of my comfort zone it took me :)

Decided to pickup an 18-40. They are so inexpensive and small - should be great on the bicycle. Here’s a backyard shot:

That's the kind of sky that always grabs me, with the sunset and clouds and clarity; the 18-40 seems to do a pretty good job there.

Congrats, it's a versatile little lens. Mine is almost always mounted on my S9.

May I ask which b+w profile you used?
I'm pretty sure it was the standard monochrome one as I find it the most useful overall. When I shoot directly in B&W I just switch to that one but in this case I shot in colour then processed the RAWs in-camera to B&W and may have altered the contrast, shadows or highlights.
