Bad song with S1II Lumix !!!

Hello,
After a lot of photography, I'm slowly getting into video.
I'm looking for a codec that will allow me to get the best sound quality with a Lumix S1ii.
During footage shot at the Paris Audio-Video Show, my results were poor when listening directly to the S1ii connected via HDMI to my audio system.
To give you an idea, the iPhone 15 performed much better with a much wider frequency range!
I was using 48kHz/24-bit audio (4K 422/10-1 25p MOV video), without saturation.
- Is there anything better to be gotten from this camera?
Or
- Is it really "minimalist" internally, and do I absolutely have to switch to external microphones to get anything audible?
(I remember recording with an SL2S, which didn't bother me.)

Thank you for your ideas...

Definitely you need an external mic if you want high quality sound.
If you want the best possible the mic should support 32bit float audio.

Well... Check first if you can set the gain settings more to auto leveling and if that satisfies you. If not you need an external mic. But the 32bit recording is not a feature of the mic but a recording (and audio converter) feature. It (only) frees you from leveling. Isn't the sii capable of 32bit? A mic to clip to the top of the cam and run to the mini jack of the s5ii should give good results. If the mic is decent.

I was answering to fast in the middle of something. When I mention cameras I always mean your s1ii.
