Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you all have a great year and lots of opportunities to take photos.

I managed to get out with my camera on the first day of the year. No surprises what I was taking photos of.:p

So how long is that beast?

Lonely pine trees on the Göd (Hungary) golf course. I shoot this picture with bad white balance settings. I used an older settings and I forgot to change it to auto. Later I noticed that the sky became bluer.

Shoot raw and WB settings in camera are irrelevant.

A 16:9 version of a view I snapped News Years Eve ... in case someone needs a new computer wallpaper. :)

You have the point. I use the RAW + FINE format option on my camera. So I have the RAW files too.

Recently, I haven't learned much about post-processing and editing. Once I learn more, I will be able to revise these pictures, but it will take time.

You can start simple. Shoot raw only and use the default settings on your chosen raw processor (e.g. Lightroom, Capture One, DxO etc) and you'll get pretty much the same output as you get from the SOOC JPEGs. But then learn how to use the package and bit by bit the quality of your output will improve. Start with the white balance control! :)

That train is usually 1,200 metres in length and runs from Melbourne to Port Kembla (south of Sydney), more than a 1,000km trip.

Yes, and even then, just choose between the raw presets in the raw package - they usually at least have Sunny vs. Cloudy.

New Year's Day - bulk grain being hauled by Pacific National (locomotives 8225, 8116 & 8149) northbound at Goulburn, 225km south-west of Sydney.

I recently switched from Windows to Mac so I could continue using DxO PhotoLab and upgrade to version 9, and have just sorted out an export preset that makes the image the right size for upload to this forum.

Playing around with one of my favorite lenses, the helios 44-2. Since I shoot with this manual lens, beside the pentagon 50mm 1.8, inch can't really bring my lumix lenses on. I love the characteristics of this lenses so much, and when I see the pictures side on side, the 44-2 tells a story where the newer lenses doesn't do that for me. So I hope Lumix once will bring on a premium Rangefinder body to make this old lenses look beautiful mounted on them. Happy new year everyone. Greetings from the ( finally snow loaded) Netherlands

I don't get on with vintage lenses really. But i guess for landscape shooting they're not the best tool. But i can see for portraits they work well. These shots of yours are really good!

That's seems pretty legit. I tried some for landscaping, but they seems to be very mushy, and can't get sharpness all over the place. Seems they work best on separated persons/items ;)
