A new lens is on it's way from a manufacturer that has not been on the radar for AF or zooms until now. Internal zoom, constant f/2.8, plastic shell - looks like it should be quite compact and handy for when the extra length of 60mm or 70mm is not needed.

Nice, it looks smaller than my 24-60. This one has a 67mm front. If they can keep the image quality ok and the weight it might be fun with a S9 ?

I see it as a good option for when you want a little flexibility and not to be switching between 24/35/50 primes. Of course, that's assuming that it's optically good.

Are Thypoch officially in the L-mount alliance? I don't think I've seen anything stating that they are.

Perhaps they followed the example of Sony, which has an excellent 24-50/2.8mm lens. They cut down on zooming in favor of quality and compactness.

Thypoch is known for making lenses for the Leica rangefinder cameras so I think, based on the reviews I read of their other lenses, the quality should be good. Great to see them making L-mount AF lenses.

This lens is just the first in a series of Thypoch autofocus lenses. In the future, the brand will introduce five more lenses. They will also be released for full-frame modern cameras: Sony, Nikon and L-mount.

This attitude of expanding into zooms is exactly what I've been hoping for from the Chinese lens brands for some time. I had expected it to come from Viltrox or maybe one of the Artisans but it's good either way. I look forward to finding out what those other zooms are and hope they will continue to fill gaps rather than just follow the herd with their own version of focal length and aperture combinations that already exist.

One nice specification is that it Is an internal zoom, and another one is that it is optical corrected instead of relying on software correction. If I didn't have the 24-60 already I would be eying this one. Don't know if it is WR.

One plus: It zooms the right way :) not reversed and wrong like Sigma's
