Panasonic 24-60 f2.8

So I broke down and ordered the lens. B&H had two discounts for the Bild conference last week and I used their Payboo card to save the tax, so I get the lens delivered to my house for $767 (US) all in, which I thought was a solid deal for a new lens that retails for $900 without tax and delivery. It's on backorder, but I'm in no hurry. I think this will be a great option for street or when I want to take a lighter kit with me. I can throw the 35/1.8 S and 85/1.8 S in the bag as well, if I want something faster and cover all the bases in a light weight, modular kit.

That's a very good price !

I got lucky and managed to buy the lens for 579 CHF (something around 600 EUR/650 USD). Unfortunately, since I live half the year in Japan and the lens is on backorder, it will arrive in December at my Swiss address but I won't be back in the country until February. Black Friday gives, Black Friday takes.

For that price I think having to wait another couple of months is not too bad.

Care to share how you got it so cheap?

That is a very very good price! I love mine, enjoy!

So due to various circumstances I ended up cancelling my Swiss preorder because I was able to get the lens in Japan for cheaper! (Weak JPY + getting a hefty amount of points in the store where I bought it + Panasonic cashback~)

And well... everyone is correct. This lens is 95 % as good as the 24 - 70 S Pro at half the price with a good chunk less weight and size. Just absolutely fantastic lens, top top work from Panasonic. Incredible for video, too. Cropless stabilisation at the wide end should be called gimbal stabilisation, it's gotten so good.

I really like mine, glad I send back the Sigma 28-70 for full refund and went with the 24-60. Not because the 28-70 is bad, contrary, the Sigma might even be a bit "creamier"... but the 24mm setting is what I use the most because I tend to use this lens indoors.
