I am waiting for these to become available on Amazon, but for those who want one ASAP, ordering is now available. A mere 1.4" in length and it has autofocus.

This looks a great option for the S9 or the BF.

Another AF 35mm for the list of L-Mount primes... I think we have already 12, if I am not wrong.

Yes, the number of 35mm lenses for L-mount is significant. However, this one is very compact, so ideal for the S9/BF, and its AF, whereas many of the smaller lenses are MF.

The link I posted allows you to order direct from SG-Image.

Hi people!
I went out this weekend with it for a hike.
First, comment that the lens hood is great! It actually protects the lens well.
Second, IQ was good.
Third, i had problems with focusing. In "all area" subject detection, even detecting the subject, sometimes it failed to acquire focus.
It always got solved by touching on the screen to define a smaller area of detection. Still annoying because I typically rely on the full area detect.

I went with the camera only carrying this lens, and a good camera phone (xiaomi 17 pro max), and the real camera pictures blew away the camera phone.

I would post pics, but the limit in size bugs me too much to go each and change the resolution. This is really a senseless limitation of the forum.

I need photos. Upload a Google photo or drive..

My experience so far with the TTA 40mm f/2 is that the difficulty focusing in some situations is more troublesome than the lower image quality when compared to my other lenses, though it sounds like you had a lot more focusing problems with the SG-I than I have with the TTA. My guess is that in both cases it could be fixed by firmware updates.

I since took this lens to some other outings, and it is the same- good or even great IQ, perfect size and my fav. focal length, but the focus is very unpredictable! So annoying.
Anyone knows if they have any SW update or how that goes?

Focus reliability and stability is something that seems to often be lacking in third-party L-mount lenses and some other brands have released firmware updates to improve it but I don't know if SG-Image will do this. Maybe the very low price means no firmware updates.

Just to answer myself, there is a page with SW updates, but mine is already in 1.2, the current one.
So there is hope, but not anything yet.
