Considering that the 35mm F1.2 Art is my all time favourite lens, there is no chance I'd pass up on it's successor. I know, the Viltrox F1.2 LAB is also a very impressive lens, but they haven't announced it for L mount yet and ultimately, I have some positive feelings towards Sigma (being reasonably priced and high quality while still continuing to manufacture in Japan) and I just wanna support them.
The 135 F1.4 also looks like a top class lens but since one of my main subjects, my wife, wasn't too happy with the rendering on the 105 F1.4 - she said it renders her body proportions unflatteringly - I ended up selling that lens and I don't think 30 mm more tele is gonna help to convince my wife.
Heh. Let us know how you like it; my sister lives in Bloomington, where they make them, so she’s got a certain favorite son support for them.Oooh, I really want the 35. But, I’m taking delivery of a Rivian on Friday. Gulp. Need to watch my spending for a while...
I know "beauty is in the eye..." and all, but this just screams "Edsel" to me.
I was all set to take a run at Rivian a couple years back; they had some test routes/tracks set up at my airport and some nearby roads, and I had signed up. But we had a stormy week with torrential rains and it washed out everything, so they had to cancel the event. Over time my GAS has faded.I know "beauty is in the eye..." and all, but this just screams "Edsel" to me.
I'm an off-roader. Recently switched over from Subaru to Jeep, thanks to a tornado dropping a tree on my Outback this past May, crushing it... Where we go trail-romping around here, there's a guy with an R1 who we're constantly having to winch out or rope out from whatever shenanigans he's gotten himself into. I'll willingly stipulate that oftentimes it's the driver that comes up short and not the vehicle, but in my admittedly-brief experience getting "seat-time" in this guy's Rivian, I am frankly not impressed with it's capabilities, especially when the company tries selling it as an "any-road vehicle." For a truck that costs roughly three times what my house cost me, I would expect more.I was all set to take a run at Rivian a couple years back; they had some test routes/tracks set up at my airport and some nearby roads, and I had signed up.
