Sony user converting to LUMIX S1RM2

Thank you for the Welcome.
NEX-7, ZV-E10, A7-C + RX-100-7.
Was looking at moving up to the A7-CR or A7-R5.
Then discovered the recent LUMIX additions.
The S1RM2 offered most of the photography features I was looking for.
The current challenges are lens selection and learning the camera nuances and menu.
Sub-Challenge is that there seems to be no LUMIX dealers (other than Best But) or support groups in Hawaii.

I moved from Sony to Lumix about 6 years ago. Much of my motivation back then was video, where Lumix leads the pack. But over time I came to appreciate how good these cameras are for photography. I currently have the S1RM2, which I consider the best all-around camera out there. (I do still have one aps-c Sony, an a6700, that I use as a very small camera when I don't want to pack larger gear.) Early on, Lumix lens selection was very limited, but it has grown so much with the L-mount Alliance it is not a factor anymore - now it's deciding what to get from everything available.
The menus are pretty straight forward, but they do take some time to learn. I put them more or less on par with the current Sony menus, just a different format. And the Q menus are great once you get organized. This forum can answer questions as they come up, and can have more than enough recommendations for lenses.

I am a photographer rather than a videographer and find the S1Rii is the best camera I’ve ever used. The sensor really is excellent, giving great resolution and decent noise performance. I also think the feature set is excellent for stills. As Charles says, the lens range is now really extensive with something for everyone.
I dabbled with Sony Alpha (A7Rii) but in comparison, the S1Rii is better in all respects. I really have no complaints (well, better battery life would be appreciated!).

Welcome! What made you convert to lumix?
I like Sony. I think they have a very complete ecosystem with different lines of cameras: apsc, hybrid, photo or resolution centric, the FX cinema, etc. And the GMaster lenses are just outstanding. I like the AF tracking mode of the Sony cameras, it is really accurate. And a lot of third party companies making great stuff. I would love to have a Sony A7CR and A7Cii for the L-Mount system.
But, as a Lumix fanboy (hahahaha) there are things that Lumix has to offer in order to catch up with Sony and Canon and get more users. Lumix is forced to innovate. Just to mention a few:
- Real time LUT and all the creative options to develop your own "signature look". With the Magic LUT feature of the Lumix Lab app they went very far away in this regard.
- Lumix Flow apo and the alredy mentioned Lumix Lab app.
- Open gate 6k.
- Hybrid and crop zoom
- E-Stabilization cropless.
- First full-frame cameras that offer the Hand Held High Res Shot feature.
Besides that I just prefer the Colors of Lumix (skin tones, greens, reds, etc.) and I just like Sigma as a native party of the L-mount alliance (no fps limitation, for example).
