S1Rii - animal detect 1st attempt, Sigma 35mm f1.2 @ f1.8. Early evening, no lights on. Absolutely nailed focus on the eyes. Only need it for cats and planes.

Which setting for focus sensitivity on the S1Rii did you use?

I updated the firmware to 1.1 and set the camera to 'animal detection' 'eyes'. No other settings were changed.

It's new - I wanted to play and the cat was nearest Having said that I will experiment with the sensitivity.

I was standing so the plane of focus goes through nose, eyes and ears.

Yeah, I've had good results with the eye detect on my (stationary) dog as well - even with the eyes closed. All default settings.
